Ketty tea kadai

The teashop was originally painted yellow as it was the cheapest colour to paint! A yellow clay called "Gobi" was mixed with water and you had a ready made paint. White paint was made from mixing "Chunaam" (lime) with water. The only problem was that these yellow and white paints were easily transferrable! Anyone leaning on a wall would get painted! Like all places, even Ketti had to modernise! Frank Steven's Rajdoot must have stopped here many times! I used to make the short journey from my house in Ketti on my trusty legs!
