This hibiscus bush is probably as old as the school itself. Every errant boy was made to stand or kneel down in the shade of this bush before being blessed with stinging "benders" from the cane of Mr. Varghese. It was a thrilling experience then, but not to the receiving end of your body

From a cozy little school of 400 odd students in late 1970s, Stanes Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School, Coonoor has grown in leaps and bounds over the last 35 years to impact the lives of more than a 1000 odd students. Shine on Light House ! Shine on !!

Was an alumni of this school between 1951-58 and passed the Madras Anglo-Indian high school examinations. We were only 4 students in 11th standard. Also appeared the senior Cambrige examinations subsequently did my masters degree in Economics, law degree and worked for Vijaya Bank limited and retired as senior officer. Grateful to the school and mentor principal Mrs N.Barnard for the wonderful foundation she laid for us. Proud to be an alumni
